This Austro-Hungarian crystal inkwell has the clear and angular lines which define the era of Art Deco. Octagonal in shape it has chamfered edges to top and base and because of this it has no damage, not even the tiniest nibble. The base is star-cut and the bursts are incised by hand, which you can see as they are not uniform. Given that it was initially made by a craftsman, I made the suggestion that it was in need of a lid. Having pondered over what would be suitable, I made a suggestion... and this lid has been hand-raised in silver and set with Blue John, by Andy Elliot. The clarity of the crystal is complemented by this and will give a stylish addition to any desk.
