A fine example of a gentleman's wax seal in carnelian and 18 carat gold. The carnelian handle is columnar in form and has a waisted and carved octagonal knop for ease of use. The head of the seal is decorated in 18carat gold and contains the eagle's head mark as it is French in origin. Measuring approximately 4 inches long, this is again presented in its original case. Dating to around the turn of the 20th Century.
